In preparation for partnering with organizations in Palestine, the Partnership conducted a baseline assessment of breast cancer awareness and care in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. The resulting study, Baseline Assessment of Breast Cancer Awareness and Care: West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem (PDF 63 MB), examines breast cancer from a variety of perspectives and includes information about the following topics:

  • Incidence of breast cancer and stage of disease when identified.
  • Availability and accessibility of breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and support services, including referrals for services within Israel and abroad, and current barriers to care for patients with breast disease including financial barriers.

  • Feasibility of improving the continuum of care for breast cancer patients and expanding the US-Middle East Partnership for Breast Cancer Awareness and Research.
